Faith Mellinger

As I'm out and about with my now three boys I can hear the remarks of "She has her hands full" as we walk by. I see the looks of sympathy as I'm chasing one boy or the other with a newborn in the baby carrier. And I am grateful for those who offer to pick up the dropped sippy cup or return my shopping cart to the rack. I'm also constantly apologizing for something one of them has done, but should I be? Join the Children's Christmas Production "Angels Aware"!

The truth is I’m usually impressed: “Wow! That does look just like Grandpa!” While the therapist in me cautions, “Be careful ...

Last weekend we took Jayce on his first plane ride.  There is no shortage of advice for people flying with their children...make sure to feed them as you ascend and descend (to help with their ears popping)...bring plenty of toys/activities...pack extra clothing in case of any accidents.  What I realized at 30 ...

Working Mom's Guilt

Our Local Mom Reveals The Struggle of Balancing Career and Kids

I’m at work trying to finish a project on deadline, and I’m sidetracked wondering how my first grader is faring on her very first day of school. Later that evening, during “family time” I do a quick check of my email to make sure the work project didn’t hit any snags before I can settle in and read to my preschooler. If these scenarios sound familiar, you are likely struggling with the same challenges as other moms who work outside of the home.

Being a mom and ...
