Back To School Supplies Make a Difference

donations are being accepted for Foothill Unity Center's 18th Annual Back To School Event

By Faith Mellinger July 21, 2016
Last week as I was scrolling through my Facebook feed I came across a beautiful collection box photo - only sadly I could see no collections in the box. The post read "This box is too empty. You can help Foothill Unity Center's Back-to-School Drive by dropping off school supplies to my district office at 600 N. Rosemead Blvd., Suite 117 in Pasadena."

No matter what your political position I think we can all agree all kids need the necessary supplies to do well in school and unfortunately not all families have the means to provide them. I looked at the post from Assemblymember Holden's office and thought Macaroni Kid could help. So I called up the office and got the details.

Help us fill the Pasadena area collection boxes with:
  • New backpacks
  • calculators
  • erasers
  • glue sticks
  • highlighters markers
  • mechanical pencils (.5mm)
  • Pencil Boxes
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • #2 pencils
  • pens
  • rulers
  • scissors
  • spiral notebooks (both college & wide rules)
These items will go directly to local kids in grades K-12 and will be distributed during a huge Back to School Event on August 9th at the Santa Anita Park Race Track. In addition to Assemblymember Holden's office the following Pasadena area locations are accepting items:
