I love the holidays and around our house we've been decorating and getting ready for Halloween. The boys are all going to be super heros this year so we've been visiting consignment sales and resale stores in search of some costumes. My original intent was to sew their costumes this year, but I succumbed to reality (I have 3 kids under 5 and supermom I am not).

I have fond memories of the many costumes my mom sewed for me and I hope to do that for my kids (someday...like when they are old enough to help). I still want to share the fun I had creating costumes with my boys, so we've been on a costume hunt rather than purchasing the "superhero in a bag" that I know we can still easily find. I'd love to hear about the creative things you are making/doing with your kids for Halloween. Post a comment to this message and tell us about them.

This issue we've combined two of my favorites, Halloween and reuse. I recently found out about Green Halloween and was so excited for the idea and for the opportunity to share it with you. I'm already thinking of ideas for a costume swap next year.

Of course we are also starting to compile a list of many free activities for you and the family this Halloween - if you know of an activity we are missing please share it with us. Also, if you attend an activity on our calendar share your experience - we love to hear when events are the most fun your kids ever had!

Enjoy the spooky season this month and go out and have some fun!
