Last week we invited 12 of our friends over to join us in previewing the latest Buddies release, Treasure Buddies. Even though there are five Buddies movies that precede this feature, this was the first Buddies movie for my kids.
The movie begins with a talking monkey, Babi, telling the tale of Cleocatra and unfolds into a mysterious trip to Egypt for the five talking pups. Rosebud (the chick), B-Dawg (the ghetto fabulous one), Budderball(9the overwieght one), Buddha (the Zen one) and Mudbud (the filthy one) head off in search of the greatest treasure to animalkind, the leg endary Cat's Eye jewel. danger lurks around every pyramid, crypt and sphinx as the Buddies try to outsmart the schemeing cat, Ubasti, who wants to possess the mystical jewl and use its powerful energy to rid the planet of all dogs. The gang avoids booby traps, solves puzzles and explores a mysterious tomb in this exciting and challenging adventure.
The movie is packed with lessons on teamwork, friendship and problem-solving and each buddy has a different personality to relate to kids of all cultures and interests. Even though my husband was not impressed with one pup in particular B-Dawg (he's afraid our boys are going to start quoting fo-shizzle and some of the other slang this doggie dishes) I have a feeling more Buddies movies are in our future.
