Win Two Tickets to Expressing Motherhood in Hollywood

Last January, I saw the stage show, "Expressing Motherhood" and wrote about it in my first edition of Macaroni Kid Pasadena. Twelve women took the stage in solo performances and shared life-changing moments that they experienced as a mother.  I was riveted!  I cried, I laughed out loud, I cheered. I'm happy to say that the show is returning to Hollywood next month with a new cast and new stories. I can't wait!

Our very own Macaroni Kid Pasadena guest writer, Deidre Kotch, will be performing in the show.  So, get your mom friends together, treat yourself to a Mom's Night Out and see this inspriring play.

Expressing Motherhood will run January 21-23 and 28-30, 2011 at the Lillian Theater in Hollywood.

Tickets are $25 and will be available through Theatermania.com. A portion of the proceeds of all Expressing Motherhood shows goes to Family Care International, a nonprofit dedicated to worldwide maternal health.

I'm going to the Saturday, January 22nd show and I hope you can join me.

Macaroni Kid is Pasadena is giving away TWO tickets to the Friday, January 21st 8:00 PM show.

Want to win? Here's how:

  • Email me at laurena@macaronikid.com with subject "Motherhood" by Monday, December 13th at 6pm. Please include your name and phone number (1 entry, email entry is mandatory).

From Expressing Motherhood:

The stage show about motherhood, starring women performing their own essays, is back for an all new show this coming January in Los Angeles at the Lillian Theater in Hollywood, CA.

Expressing Motherhood is a live stage show performed by mothers sharing their life experiences regarding motherhood. Humorous and dramatic pieces are included so as to represent all aspects of mothering.

Madeline Holler of Babble.com says, “I wound up in a controlled sob midway through…(it had) everything to do with how the disconnect between what we expected from motherhood and what came to be can sometimes make us do really pathetic things.”

“I laughed, I cried, I smiled, I clapped, I shared grief…Mom’s all too often think they’re alone, even when we know we’re not.” says August 2010 audience member Lesley Adams.

For any and all information, please visit ExpressingMotherhood.com. You may also contact Expressing Motherhood at press@expressingmotherhood.com.

A show conceived by two women during their children’s naptime.
