Publisher's Message: Five Things You Can Do For FREE This Summer

By Faith Mellinger, Editor/Co-Publisher July 10, 2014
It's about mid-summer and some vacations have been taken, summer camp is wrapping up and all the summer expenses are taking a toll. It's time to remember some of that free fun we can have so we can save up for all that back to school shopping. So here are 5 favorite FREE activities around town:
  1. Attend a Free Concert at Levitt Pavilion
  2. Enjoy an Outdoor Movie at Float (doesn't hurt that they also offer a limited edition float paired with each movie - yum yum!)
  3. Cool off in the splash pad at La Pintoresca Park or Visit one of LA County's Splash Pads
  4. Take a guided walk in the Eaton Canyon Natural Area. Every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. they offer a hike geared toward families.
  5. Take your locomotive lover to travel town for an afternoon picnic. Admission AND parking are both free - a rare find in the LA Area.
A few more free treats for Friday: 7-11 is giving away free small slurpees to celebrate their birthday on Friday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Chik-Fil-A is celebrating cow appreciation day by giving out free meals if you are dresssed like a cow when you come into the restaurant Friday.

Enjoy!
