Free Family Fun Flicks on Fridays

Bring the family - and even the family pup to One Colorado

By Sponsored Article August 28, 2014
This September bring the family, and even the family pup, to One Colorado for some really great Friday night films in the Courtyard. They'll even supply the sweet and salty goodness of Kettle corn for some movie time snacking (until they run out so be sure to get there early).

When you come to enjoy the show you can also bring along some goodwill. Bring new or gently used books, new arts and crafts materials or school supplies to One Colorado’s courtyard collection for Pasadena’s Mothers’ Club

“For over 50 years Mothers’ Club has been providing free, high-quality education and social services to Pasadena’s neediest, most isolated parents and children. We invest in the whole family during the most critical time of life, creating hope for a better future for all of Pasadena’s children.”

Show starts at 7:30 p.m. - or at dusk and did we mention it's FREE!

From the hands who brought you the stop-motion celebrities Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run is an animated comedy about a group of chickens who, following the lead of a smooth-talking Rhode Island Red named Rocky, attempt to fly the coop when they learn that their farm’s proprietors have plans to switch from supplying chicken eggs to chicken pot pies.  Gulp!

September 19 – Up (2009) rated G

The elderly and rather crabby widower, Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner), inadvertently joined by an exuberant, nine-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell, set sail in Carl’s home, airlifted by thousands of helium balloons, to reach the mystical shores of South America’s Paradise Falls.  Carl and his wife Ellie had always dreamed of one day visiting Paradise Falls together, but as they were making the arrangements Ellie passed away (hanky moment).

September 26 - Mary Poppins (1964) rated G

A Disney musical fantasy, the “Practically Perfect in Every Way” Mary Poppins flies out of the windy London skies, Magritte-style, and into the home of two mischievous children.  Infusing their life with a newfound sense of magic and whimsy, and “with the help of a carefree chimney sweep named Bert (Dick Van Dyke), the spirited nanny turns every chore into a game and every day into a 'Jolly Holiday.'” As long as your Courtyard neighbors are cool with it, singing along is encouraged; Umbrellas optional.

Also in the Courtyard this September:
