Publisher's Note: October Family Fun and Halloween Tips and Gadgets

By Faith Mellinger, Editor/Co-Publisher October 23, 2014
Welcome to Macaroni Kid Pasadena! We are your rescource for family fun and activities, please share us with your family and friends.

Congrats to Lisa P. our Yo Gabba Gabba Winner!

I had an amazing time at our recent Macaron Kid meet-up. There are Macaroni Kid editions in over 500 communities and by reading this newsletter you are part of an amazing network enabling families to do more together. Over the next few weeks we are going to be making Macaroni Kid Pasadena even greater starting with our very first video post. I don't love myself on video, but my kids really enjoyed being a part of this for you:

We had a lot of fun checking out the new Southern California Children's Museum (455 South Lake Avenue, Suite 103, Pasadena - next to TJ MAXX). They are a great place for kids under 8.

With Halloween around the corner there are lots of resources to keep the kids safe for Halloween fun. We got to check out the Pelican ProGear 3310PL flashlight and we plan to take this on our trick or treat adventures on Halloween. It's a little hard to find in stores, but I found some on Amazon - this really durable flashlight is waterpoof and lasts up to 190 hours- and it will be making it's way to our emergency supply kit after Halloween.

As a parent of kids with food allergies we also love the details on the Teal Pumpkin Project. I think every parent agrees one less candy bar in the treat bag would be welcome, allergies or not.

What are some of you favorite Halloween ideas or gear? Let us know in the comments below.

Check out MKP's
calendar every week to see what your next adventure will be. If you know of an upcoming fun event that should not be missed, be sure to email the amazing Joyce Sakonju at joyces@macaronikid.com so she can post it on our calendar.

Enjoy!
