Pasadena has the holidays! We've got the Rose Parade and some of THE BEST light displays in Southern California. Driving around on Christmas Eve - beating Santa home and checking out the neighborhood lights was one of our family traditions growing up. These bright spots are the most dazzling displays around and we have some of the best in our backyard.
Balian House: Mendocino Lane & Glenview Terrace, just east of N. Allen Avenue, Altadena. Bring a jacket because you'll want to get out and walk around.
Bungalow Heaven: The neighborhood on the block of 1000 block of N. Michigan Avenue (Ferris wheel, Santa's covered wagon, and comic characters on the roof) and 900 block of N. Michigan Avenue, Pasadena (Electric trees, candy canes, cascading lights)
Christmas Tree Lane: Just a short drive from the Balian House at Santa Rosa Avenue, Altadena. One mile of giant deodar trees are lit every year.
Christmas Star: Altadena Drive & Glen Canyon Road, Altadena. A large star tops an electric Christmas tree overlooking Eaton Canyon.
East Pasadena: Las Lunas Street just west of N. Allen Avenue, Pasadena. Angels, choir boys, and a playhouse to peek in, and Monte Vista Street just west of N. Allen Avenue, Pasadena.
Saint Albans Road, San Marino: Located adjacent to Lacy Park the tall majestic pines lining this area create an beautiful backdrop for a festive walk - bundle up and enjoy!
Star of Palawoo: Above Loma Alta west of Marengo, Altadena.
Upper Hastings Ranch:
Use Google Maps to find Hastings Ranch Drive and Sierra Madre Blvd if you're looking for a starting point- it's best to enter from E. Sierra Madre Boulevard, Pasadena. Each Street has a theme - don't forget to hashtag your photos of the house on Tropical!
