Dinotrux Brings Together Two Favorite Things: Dinosaurs and Trucks

in a fun, heartwarming kids series

By Faith Mellinger November 10, 2016
Our family is loving the great shows they offer on Netflix and Dinotrux is no exception. With three boys between the ages of 5 and 9 in our house there is no shortage of dinosaurs or trucks around so combining these two favorite things into a tv show was a hit.

Dinotrux is a DreamWorks epic Emmy
® Award winning original series inspired by the award-winning books by Chris Gall.  Built for the adventure-loving kid, Dinotrux tells relatable, heartfelt stories about building friendships, working together and overcoming challenges.

The story follows the exciting larger-than-life adventures of Ty, a massive Tyrannosaurus Trux, and his best friend Revvit, a tiny razor-sharp Reptool.  In season 3, episode 1 you'll recognize Revvit as the wise friend hanging out on top of Ty in much of the show. In this episode all the herds come together for a common goal and defeat the "bully" scraptors and their leader D-Structs.

The unexpected friendships in Dinotrux reinforce the message that friends come in all different shapes, sizes and herds.  Rather than dwelling on their differences, the Dinotrux learn to embrace new herds in order to build a supportive community.  This mirrors the experience kids go through as they venture out into the world of school and organized activities.

Now in it's third season, the show features new, larger-than-life adventures and even more lovable characters to discover.  When faced with new villains, the gang must band together to protect their herd and make tough choices in order to do the right thing.

Modeled after real life dinosaurs and trucks the animation will amaze even the adults as the dinosaur-trucks venture through the crater working together to offer positive messages to our kids.

The first episode we watched started with a battle and an attack so I was worried a little about the violence, but the message of friendship and working together is stron

Common Sense Media awarded Dinotrux its Seal of Approval, recognizing the show as a trusted choice for families with young children.  In their review, Common Sense Media called the show “a unique blend of action, comedy and adventure that makes it fun for the entire family to enjoy,” with great role models for young girls and boys.

After watching a few episodes and seeing my 5-year-old light up for more this mom agrees it's a great show for the whole family!
