PRE-CONCERT ACTIVITIES:
“Little Hands, Big World” Interactive Workshops: Made possible by grants from the Tournament of Roses Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, “Little Hands, Big World,” is a series of interactive workshops which take place prior to our Children’s Night concerts during our Summer Season. These workshops are FREE of charge, and designed to extend children’s experience of our concerts, and expand their cultural understanding by teaching music, songs, and dance from around the world. These interactive programs are offered by highly skilled teaching artists in a welcoming and supportive group environment that engages children and encourages parental involvement.

Covering traditions from the African diaspora, Asia, Latin America, and our own backyard, “Little Hands, Big World” will include participatory cultural dance and singing, drumming workshops, instrument building, and art activities as a fun and hands-on means by which families can further experience and appreciate the cultural music and dance presented in our summer festival.

The series invites families and people of all ages to experience a multi-cultural, multidisciplinary journey around the globe in celebration of the diversity of Southern California.

KidZone features child and family-focused interactive fun and games! Activities vary by day. Children can have their face painted, grab a balloon, make chalk drawings, make instruments, and color to their hearts content.
