Macaroni Mom Review: Kidspace Opens New Cafe With Playful Menu

By Meghan Meichtry, Local Mom of Two March 5, 2019

We had a great time visiting the new Bean Sprouts Cafe located in the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena. They had quite an assortment of great healthy food selections for the kids, all of which were made out to be adorable characters and animals. This was very exciting to my children who gravitated towards the flutter bite sandwich, a cute turkey and cheese sandwich arranged into a butterfly with a celery stick body & carrot antennas. They both were ecstatic to order and pick out what they wanted and it came with veggie tots, which both of my children loved so it was a win-win for me!

Among some of the other yummy options was a Grilledzilla (grilled cheese), Crocamole (an avocado filled with avocado hummus and decorated into the cutest crocodile with vegetables), and an Under the Sea-Za ( a pizza with cucumber fish and olives as bubbles). The cafe appeared to be very sensitive to food allergies and other health obstacles, offering sunflower butter & substitutions for gluten free bread. They advertised clean eating with no artificial flavoring, colors, or preservatives & had an extensive nutritional binder for more detailed questions on ingredients.

Bean Sprouts also did not disappoint with the adult selections, offering a variety of sandwiches & salads for any adult or caretaker. We had the Meditterrane-Yum salad with chicken & the Meat & Greet sandwich and they both were delicious.

In all honesty it was hard to pick just a few items because everything sounded good & looked adorable. The snack list looked like another fun menu that we will have to go back and try very soon! I can definitely say that the new cafe made our trip that much more enjoyable and we will most definitely be back for some yummy snacks & food in the future!
