Your Local Trick or Treat Guide

By Faith Mellinger, Publisher & Family Fun Finder for Pasadena Macaroni Kid October 23, 2019

We asked the moms and they answered! Here are the local neighborhoods where the treats are usually so great you won't need any tricks at all.

  • One block south of Altadena on Atchison across the street from Westminster Church
  • East Altadena above Altadena Drive
  • Pepper Drive above New York Dr, the whole street really goes all out
  • If you're looking for scary - the Braeburn H
  • Haunted House is the place to see - but beware it is SCARY! Located at 1640 Braeburn Road, Altadena

  • Monterey Road between Windsor Place & Diamond Avenue
  • Marengo Avenue & Fair Oaks
  • San Rafael- they close the streets surrounding the San Rafael library and San Rafael Elementary πŸŽƒPolice are around for safety, every single house is decorated and ready with candy and it’s super fun.
  • Playhouse District 4-6pm look for orange balloons 🎈
  • Lambert Street has a parade every year. Starts around 5 or 530. The street goes all out and lots of cute kids and parents.
  • The Daisy/ Villa neighborhood in East Pasadena (west of the bed bath and beyond shopping center). The streets are narrow and the homes are close together and not long walkways to the front doors. It's a nice quiet neighborhood to take the kids through.
  • PazNaz’s annual Fall Festival is back again from 6:00-8:00 pm on the PazNaz campus. This family-friendly event will feature games, trunk-or-treat, food, hayrides, live music, free popcorn, and a petting zoo.
  • Oakland between California and Glenarm
  • Historic Highlands Neighborhood -borders of Pasadena and Altadena - fog machines
  • Madison Heights area starting from El Molino and California

  • You can't go wrong in South Pasadena. Streets like Mission, Stratford, El Centro, Oxley and Montrose hand out upwards of 800 pieces of candy.
(Hershey should be sending thank you cards to these neighborhoods).
  • Stratford Street gets blocked off so you can roam the street without worrying about vehicles.
  • If you are in the neighborhood be sure to stop by the Halloween house  - as in the original house from the movie Halloween. 1000 Mission Street, South Pasadena (to locate other houses from the movie check here).
  • Collis also closes  the street and usually has vendors free popcorn and cotton candy
  • Milan

  • Lorain Road
  • Afton Road

  • Indianola Rd
