Did you know you can get weeknight tickets for the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl for just a dollar?That’s right! The bowl regularly offers up $1 tix (with no additional ticketing fee) for the two back outer sections (areas Q and U) of the amphitheater. There’s no promo code needed.
This is a great way to introduce unpredictable children to symphony music with very little risk. Bring some snacks and maybe a small fidget toy or two to keep them occupied while waiting for the concert to start. If the kids enjoy the experience, you can try better seats next time; if they squirm and whine the whole time, you can chalk it up to at least having broadened their horizons, and even skip out early if you’re not having fun.
How to get the deal:
Go to HollywoodBowl.com, and “view calendar.” Find a Tuesday or Thursday event that you’d like to attend and click “buy now.” An image of the Hollywood Bowl seating chart will appear, along with a seat selection guide on the right. Slide the scroll bar all the way to the bottom seating section and find $1 tickets for sections Q & U, (and possibly W, V & X). These are the furthest back seats, where the music still sounds wonderful, but you’ll want to bring your opera glasses. You also won’t likely disturb other audience members if the kids aren’t perfectly behaved.
Next, hit the symbol in the middle of the screen to increase the number of seats you’d like. You can get up to 9 tickets at this price in one transaction, assuming there are enough adjacent seats available. Remember, it’s only the LA Phil that offers these cut-rate prices and not every performer at the Bowl.
Dates remaining in the 2024 season that include $1 tickets are August 15, 20, 22, and September 3. If those dates don’t work for you but you are still interested, check again before the 2025 season opens… they’ve been offering this special since 2021.
