Summary

The morning, docent-lead public tour of the Observatory, which includes entry into the 150-foot Solar Tower Telescope (the largest solar telescope in the world from 1912 to 1962), the 60-inch Telescope (the ancestor of all large, modern reflecting telescopes and the biggest in the world from 1908 to 1917), and the 100-inch Telescope (used by Hubble to discover the expanding Universe and the biggest telescope in the world from 1917 to 1949.) The walking tour is about two hours long.

The walking tour leaves from the Pavillion where the Cosmic Café is located. it is about two hours long and involves walking about a third of a mile with some stairs to climb in the telescope domes.

Tickets are $15 (adults) and $13 (ages 12 and under & 62 and older).
