Publisher's Note: A Whole Lot To Be Thankful For

By Faith Mellinger, Editor/ Co-publisher November 24, 2011

Congrats to last weeks winners: Christy L. and Dora G. who will be enjoying Circus Vargas with their families and Melinda E. whose picky eater will learn some new habits with Eat, Baby, Eat!! We are thankful to be able to offer so many wonderful opportunities and products to our subscribers.

Growing up in a vegetarian house our Thanksgiving table looked a lot different than others, but our message was the same. Each Thanksgiving we expressed thankfulness for each other and for all the blessings we had received that year. This year, as so many families are facing hardships, I am reminded of all the wonderful opportunities and advantages my family has that I so often take for granted. With a background in philanthropy I have always been touched when I notice that those who give the most are usually those who have the least to give. I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving, time with your families, and reflect on all you have to be thankful for. I'm especially thankful for my MKP co-publisher Joyce - without her you wouldn't have the amazing list of free and low cost events everyweek. You can always send her a note or calendar idea at joyces@macaronikid.com.

I have to admit I'm really looking forward to tomorrow (and not for all the Black Friday deals, but those are a plus too - especially as my Christmas list is expanding with Baby 3's first Christmas this year). I am so excited to decorate for Christmas! My four-year-old asks every day when it's going to be Christmas and we are looking forward to pulling out the Christmas tubs tomorrow. As my kids get older I'm looking forward to sharing some of my family holiday traditions, and creating some of our own. I've decided decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving is going to be one of our traditions. Plus it will help me keep the kids busy over the long weekend.

Of course, we also have all the fun events on our Macaroni Kid Pasadena calendar to keep busy with. We really hope you'll mark your calendars for our Macaroni Kid party at Magical Playground next week. Enjoy and have a great week! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful for you,
