Costume Swap: Save Last Years Disguise

and upcycle to something new

July 26, 2012

I know what you're thinking ... I've heard of Christmas in July, but Halloween?  Isn't it too early to start thinking about costumes and candy and craziness?  Not if you're thinking about ways to minimize waste and maximize fun!  And there's no better way to do that for Halloween than participating in National Costume Swap Day.

A costume swap is recycling at its most fun. Kids get new-to-them costumes, and parents get to save money and the planet.  National Costume Swap Day is the brainchild of Corey and Lynn, founders of a grassroots, non-profit known as Green Halloween®. This year Pasadena Macaroni Kid plans to get in on the DROP-SWAP-SHOP fun!

Before you toss out that "old" costume or head to the store to buy a new one, plan to participate in our Costume Swap Sunday, September 30th.  Later this month, we will be announcing more details and information on the location at the soon-to-open Another Kid's Treasure consignment shop!
