Publisher's Note: Bring Back Family Game Night for Christmas

By Faith Mellinger, Editor/Co-Publisher November 20, 2014
We've been having family movie night. I have to admit it's become a nice time for me to relax, put on a kid movie, have a glass of wine and sit with the boys while I organize my email box on my iphone. A few weeks ago my son pulled out the Battleshop box and it inspired a few family game nights. This has encouraged much more interaction with the kids and we ALL love it!

Shark Mania, Battleship, Guess Who, Pack It and more have all become family fun. When the games are to hard for my 3 and 5 year old we create teams so everyone can get in on the fun. I remember family game nights by candlelight with my parents during power outages and I hope the kids will remember ours just as fondly!

At our recent Toy Time Party we played with a few games and toys. This encouraged me to be creative with family game night. It doesn't have to be just a game it can be putting a Lego creation together, building a train set, or making new templates for the Lite-Brite -it's all about family time. So get out some toys and play this week.

This is also a great time to spread the word about Macaroni Kid Pasadena as we will be working hard to get you all the 411 on the awesome Holiday Happenings coming up. You don't want to miss Breakfast with Santa, holiday light tours or any of the other events we will be sharing. A lot of the holiday fun is starting this weekend.

Be sure to check out MKP's calendar every week to see what your next adventure will be. If you know of an upcoming fun event that should not be missed, please email the amazing Joyce Sakonju at joyces@macaronikid.com so she can post it on our calendar.
